Indian Army chief to visit Nepal
Kathmandu, November 5
Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag is arriving on a three-day visit to Nepal next week to take part in the concluding ceremony of Nepal-India joint military exercise— the Surya Kiran “X” to be held at Saljhindi, Rupendehi on November 12.
Nepali Army Spokesperson Tara Bahadur Karki confirmed that the Indian Army chief was visiting Nepal at the Invitation of Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri. But, he said the details of his visit were being worked out.
The joint military drill — tenth of its kind between the two nations— began on October 31 and is concluding on November 13.
Besides attending the concluding ceremony, General Singh would also visit Kathmandu and call on senior political and military officers, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Defence Minister Bal Krishna Khand.
CoAS Chhetri is leaving for a week-long official visit to Bangladesh on November 15 at the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart.
