Indian assistance for Jhapa school

Kathmandu, August 7:

The Indian Embassy signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jhapa District Development Committee and the Himali Higher Secondary School, Prithvinagar. As per the MoU, the embassy will provide Rs 29.61 million to the DDC and the school.

The funds will be utilised to build a two-storey building for the school. The school was running classes for 1,000 students in a building damaged during an earthquake in 1988. The Indian aid is expected to ease infrastructure constraint, a press release said.

The DDC would execute the project with participation of the school management committee.
