RAUTAHAT: A cyclist died after being hit by an India-registered jeep in Gaur of Rautahat on Monday morning.

Umesh Prasad Yadav (37) of Dharmapur-1 was hit by the jeep (BR 05A 1393) at Mudaulawa along the Gaur-Gangapipara-Rajaiya road section in Gaur Municipality-13 of Rautahat district this morning.

According to District Police Office, Rautahat, Yadav was heading toward Gaur on a cycle when the over-speeding vehicle hit him to death on the spot.

Inspector Ram Prasad Chaudhary informed that the vehicle was under the custody of police for further investigation. The driver, however, is on the run.
