HUMLA: An Indian national has died after being hit by a helicopter blade at Hilsa in Humla district today, police said.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Nabindra Kumar Kartik of Mumbai in Maharastra state. He was hit by the spinning tail rotor of a Manang Air chopper (Manang-9N-AMV) while trying to take a selfie this afternoon.

According to assistant chief district officer, Mahesh Kumar Pokharel, the helicopter was on the ground at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, the body will be taken to Simikot, district-headquarters for an autopsy.
