Indian motorcycle seized for tax evasion
RAUTAHAT: An Armed Police Force team impounded an India- registered motorcycle laden with clothes for evading a tax, from a bridge over the Lal Bakaiya River in Katahari of Rautahat district on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Head Constable Umesh Pandit in civvies from the APF Border Security Office in the district had impounded the motorcycle (W B 20 S 8885) with clothes worth Rs 150,000.
The motorcyclist ran away leaving the motorcycle after seeing the security personnel on the bridge, informed SP Madan Bahadur Bista.
Meanwhile, police have confiscated stationery materials worth Rs 55,000 that were being carried from western border point of Gaur.
The confiscated materials were handed over to Gaur Customs Office for further investigation.
