BEJHAD: Police in Palpa district, on Thursday, reportedly arrested an Indian youth on the charge of raping a seven-year-old girl in Rampur.

The arrested has been identified as Kausar Alam (22) of Dhangraul, Bettiah in Bihar State of India who has been working as a daily wager in Rampur, the Area Police Office, Rampur stated.

Alam was absconding after committing the crime at 4:00 pm on Thursday. He was arrested from Materi, Rampur Municipality-5, at 9:00 pm on Thursday, Chief of the Area Police Office, Bhoj Raj Pandey, said.

Alam was handed over to the District Administration Office, Palpa on Friday for necessary action.
