Indian national killed in Rautahat accident

RAUTAHAT: An Indian national was killed and two persons were injured when a pickup van met with an accident in Chandrapur of the district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Dhananjaya Sah (25) of India, informed the Chandrapur Area Police Office.

Driver of the truck, Sujan Lama (25) of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-13, and Balchan Mukhiya (40) of Mirchaiya in Siraha were seriously injured when the van they were on turned turtle, police added.

The ill-fated van (Na 2 Cha 9965) was ferrying mangoes to Kathmandu when it lost control near the Shahid Park of Chandrapur along the East-West Highway this morning.

According to police, the vehicle was travelling in a high speed when the accident occurred.

The injured have been referred to the Hetaunda-based Chure Hill Hospital from the Chandranigahapur Hospital after the primary treatment, police informed.

Sah’s body has been kept at the Chandranigahapur Hospital for further investigations.
