KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 6

A new bilateral startup initiative, India–Nepal Startup Partnership Network (IN-SPaN), has been launched to promote collaboration and entrepreneurship between the two neighbours.

Hosted at IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, IITM Research Park, Chennai, the program aims to nurture early-stage entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, and exposure to emerging technologies. The initiative builds upon collaborations between IIT Madras Pravartak and leading Nepali universities, reflecting Nepal's expanding startup ecosystem.

The eight-week program includes entrepreneurship training, specialized skills development, and internships across four innovation tracks - Electronics Systems, SMD PCB Manufacturing, 3D Printing Prototyping, and Solar Installation & Maintenance.

According to the organisers, selected participants will receive full coverage of travel, accommodation, and course fees from the Embassy of India, and upon completion, will be awarded IIT Madras Pravartak Certification.

Officials said the partnership aims to strengthen cross-border innovation and build a talent pipeline that contributes to the region's startup and technology-driven economic growth.
