The parents of a 13-month old baby are facing problems managing treatment expenses in Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality of Bajura district.
Sandip Rawat, the heart patient, is struggling for life as he lacks support for his treatment. Sandip has also been suffering from acute malnutrition besides the heart problem.
According to Dr Jasmita Balampaki at the hospital, Sandip has heart problems and is also suffering from malnutrition. The hospital added that the minor was referred to a Kathmandu-based health facility even though treatment for malnutrition was possible in Bajura. Sandip is receiving treatment for malnutrition.
Dr Balampaki said Sandip had to be taken to Kathmandu for heart treatment.
Sandip's relatives had taken him to Dogadi Health Post after he was diagnosed with malnutrition. The health post referred Sandip to the nutrition rehabilitation centre of Bajura Hospital after he was diagnosed with acute malnutrition.
Sandip's father Padam said Bajura Hospital had referred Sandip to Kathmandu-based Sahid Gangalal National Heart Centre for treatment. Padam has requested all the helping hands for support to save his son's life. He added that Sandip was in Bajura Hospital and could not be taken to Kathmandu due to lack of treatment expenses. Sandip has to be immediately taken to Kathmandu.
According to doctors at Bajura Hospital, Sandip has to be taken to Kathmandu by ambulance. The ambulance charge is more than Rs 5,500. Relatives of the patient have no money even to buy a bottle of water.
The rural municipality Chairman Dil Bahadur Rawat said the executive meeting of the rural municipality would make a decision on providing treatment expenses to the minor.
