Jitpursimara Sub-metropolitan City, Bara, is all set to impose integrated property tax on people of the area from the upcoming fiscal.

Mayor Dr Krishna Poudel said that they were preparing to collect the tax as per the Local Government Operation Act.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a two-day interaction on the tax system, in Simara today, Mayor Poudel said that they were preparing to collect integrated property tax from the upcoming fiscal year. “This tax system was introduced as an alternative to land revenue and real estate tax. This tax is progressive and is taken on the basis of valuation of land and the structure, which will be a milestone for the internal income of the local level and the budget will be utilised for social and infrastructure development and for justice,” said Mayor Poudel.

Under secretary at Federal Affairs and General Administration Ministry Bishnu Gautam, experts Pawan Lohani and Damodar Giri felicitated the participants at the two-day programme.
