Interim statute in a day or two, says Sitaula

Jhapa, December 4:

Home Minister and coordinator of the government’s talks team Krishna Prasad Sitaula today said the interim statute would be declared within a day or two. Speaking at the unveiling programme of a newly-constructed statue of Teangsi Sirijanga II on 303rd birth anniversary at Prithvinagar here today, Sitaula said the interim statute has been drafted. He added that it would be declared after a final discussion among the political parties.

Stating that the government has honoured the sentiments of Jana Andolan II, Sitaula said the election to the constituent assembly would be held with the people’s support and participation, overcoming all hindrances along the way.

Saying that Prime Minister GP Koirala has been actively working to hold the constituent assembly polls soon despite his health problems, Sitaula urged everyone not to have any doubts about the constituent assembly.

“People are slowly becoming free of fear, which is the biggest achievement,” Sitaula said. He added that people’s focus now has switched to development.
