KATHMANDU, JUNE 1

Amid the spread of new and more virulent variant of coronavirus in the country, the government has decided to conduct and publish the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) grading through internal assessment.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday took the decision to follow the same modality as last year which too was affected by Covid-19 outbreak.

Last year, the government had conducted SEE on a postponed date by allowing concerned schools to provide marks to their students based on internal evaluation as the environment was not conducive for conducting physical exams.

The decision was taken in a bid to avoid the possibility of the spread of the infection if the exams were conducted in person.

The Ministry of Education will now write to the National Examinations Board to implement the government decision.

This year some 517,000 students are preparing for the SEE.
