KATHMANDU, JUNE 1
The executive committee of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal has decided to expel four senior party figures, including chair Mahanta Thakur, on Tuesday.
The Upendra Yadav-Baburam Bhattarai faction has decided to take action against Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Sarvendra Nath Shukla and Laxman Lal Karna at a time when Thakur-Mahato have expedited dialogues with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to join the government.
The two factions had engaged in a war of clarifications and counter clarifications since dispute arose within the party on the issue of whether to back up or to stand against PM Oli's political adventures.
While Mahato-Thakur have been backing up PM Oli in recent times, including staying neutral during his May 10 parliamentary floor test, Yadav-Bhattarai are opposed to the idea of supporting Oli and have joined the opposition alliance in a bid to oust him.
