International Yoga Day was celebrated in all 18 local levels of Rautahat today.
As per the decision of the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, the International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on June 21 from 2015. Yoga is believed to have positive impact on the human body and mind. To mark the day, a yoga session was organised with the slogan 'Yoga for Humanity' at Saraswati Secondary School of Durga Bhagawati Rural Municipality, in Rautahat, today.
Rural Municipality Chair Shambhu Singh inaugurated the programme formally, and said Yoga practice was important in everyday life. He added that Yoga was significant for healthy life and urged all to start Yoga practice for physical and mental well-being.
Educationist Krishna Bahadur Pandey said people from around the globe are interested in Yoga practice and have added it to their daily routine.
