BIRATNAGAR: Itahari locals continued the indefinite bandh demanding the construction of a regional stadium in Itahari on Thursday.

Earlier the locals and the policemen clashed during a protest on Wednesday. At least 15 locals and five policemen were injured in the incident.

However, the struggle committee has announced that they would intensify the protest accusing the police of using force.

Though the government had announced that a regional stadium would be built in Sunsari district in this fiscal year the place for its construction has not been fixed yet.

Meanwhile, local residents of Dharan and Inaruwa are demanding that the stadium should be built in their area.
