Jaitapur health post row resolved
Bara, January 11
A ten-month long dispute over the Jaitapur health post ended yesterday at Jitpur-Simara Sub-metropolitan City in Bara.
The health post that lies in Jitpur-Simara sub-metropolis was disputed after the then Manarhawa VDC’s wards No 1, 2 and 8 got merged into Jitpur-Simara sub-metropolis while other wards of the VDC merged with Kalaiya Sub-metropolitan City.
The locals at Shakhui of Kalaiya Sub-metropolis wanted to move the health post to their area, while Jaitapur locals wanted the health post to remain where it was established. After that, locals at Shakhui had shifted the health post equipment in their area enraging the locals of Jaitapur.
The dispute was settled yesterday in a meeting that took place at District Administration Office, Bara, in the presence of Chief District Officer Bijaya Narayan Manandhar, Kalaiya sub-metropolis Mayor Rajesh Yadav and District Public Health Office Chief Roshan Lal Chaudhary.
The meeting reached an agreement to provide health services from two places. Chaudhary said staffers would be deployed at two work stations.
As per the agreement, health assistant Shesh Narayan Mahato, assistant health worker Ram Nareash Sah and auxiliary mid-wife Rima Karki would be deployed in Jaitapur health post while senior auxiliary mid-wife Panmati Chaudhary and assistant health worker Shanti Thapa Magar would be deployed in Shakhui health post.
