Sindhu Uprety, who was shot at in Jhapa, needs to get an elbow transplant. Earlier, during the

last treatment he had told this daily: “Our country needs more attention than we do. Our wounds are not so serious, compared to the country’s. We had no political ambition. We hit the streets for a certain mission.” Uprety is under treatment at the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for the last 10 days. According to a source at the Nepali Embassy here, his stay has lengthened as he needs an elbow transplant.

Narayan Dutta Bhatta, who was injured in a police lathi-charge during a demonstration in Nepalgunj, is also here for medical treatment. Bhatta and Upreti are undergoing treatment as per the Nepal government’s decision that the injured in Jana Andolan II will get the full expense for treatment.
