Janakpur all set to welcome Indian PM Modi, as preparations conclude

JANAKPUR: All the necessary preparations for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Janakpur have concluded.

Construction of a podium, helipads and black topping of roads among other preparations have finished, according to the State Minister of Physical Infrastructure, Jitendra Sonal.

The security in Janakpur has been tightened and entry to the Barhabigha ground, where felicitation program will be carried out, is barred. Nepal Army and Indian security personnel are deployed in numbers to guard the vicinity.

A total of 45 Indian security personnel, dispatched for the security of Indian PM Modi have already arrived at Janakpur while more will be arriving along with the visiting PM of India.

As per the schedule, PM Modi will directly reach Janaki Temple from Janakpur airport where he will offer special worship. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli whose helicopter will land at Federal Police Unit's helipad, will arrive at the temple before his Indian counterpart.

Meanwhile, Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut will chair the felicitation ceremony while Defense Minister Ishwar Pokhrel will deliver a welcome speech. Likewise, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Mayor Lal Kishor Saha would will offer felicitation in Maithali and hand over the letters written in three languages including Nepali, English and Hindi.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport and CPN-UML leader Raghubir Mahaseth, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies and CPN-Maoist Centre leader Matrika Yadav, Rastria Janata Party Nepal's Cordinator Mahantha Thakur, Federal Sociolist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Nepali Congress' Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi will also be present during the felicitation ceremony.
