Jiri festival to boost tourism

Jiri (Dolakha), December 31

With a view to promoting tourism business in Jiri, FNCCI Dolakha unit is going to organise a Jiri Festival soon, Social Service Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chamnbers of Commerce and Industry informed during the eighth annual general meeting of the federation.

Inaugurating the meeting, member of Social Service Committee, Gokul Dhoj Karki said people of all sectors need to pay attention towards the falling trend of tourism and business in overall.

President of FNCCI, Dolakha, Sudarshan Karki said the disturbance in telephone service for last four months has badly affected the tourism business in Jiri, adding to the negative impact of Maoist violence to it.

Drawing the attention of the concerned sector, he said uninterrupted telephone service need to resumed in Jiri so as to lure tourists there. At the same time, the meeting has decided to launch several creative activities in Jiri in near future to give a boost to the falling tourism business.

Meanwhile, the meeting has formed an 11-member new executive body of the Dolakha FNCCI under the chairmanship of Bhumiraj Khadka.
