Jiri hotels offer 50pc discount

Hotel entrepreneurs in Jiri have been offering 50 per cent discount to tourists, who come to visit the tourist destination in Dolakha.
Hotel entrepreneurs announced that the discount offer will came into effect from yesterday. Jiri Chamber of Industry and Commerce president Golbu Sherpa said they took the decision to offer discount on room charge.
Vice-chair Baburaja Shrestha said they had offered discount not only on room charge but also food items. He said the decision was taken with the aim of attracting domestic and international tourist to Jiri.
Hotel entrepreneurs said they were trying to improve their services and added that they had managed guide for tourists to make tourists stay longer in Jiri. They said they had been coordinating with travel agencies to bring tourists to Jiri. They said that maximum tourists reached Kalinchowk and Bhimeshwor, which were overcrowded.
Meanwhile, the government has also been promoting Jiri as a tourist destination. Jiri Municipality has also launched Clean Jiri, Green Jiri and Organic Jiri campaign. Mayor Tanka Rijal said infrastructure was being built for tourism promotion in the municipality.
