JMMT shuts down Nawalparasi

NAWALPARASI: Normal life in Nawalparasi district has been crippled due to the bandh on Wednesday . Transportation in the district has been halted and the market areas and industries closed from morning.

An armed Terai outfit 'Janatantrik Madhesi Mukti Tigers'(JMMT) had declared a two-day bandh in the district from Wednesday.

Issuing a press statement signed by Pratap, the military chief, it had called a two-day general shut-down across the district including transport services, factories and markets to protest the killing of its two cadres in Rupandehi.

However, they have asked the educational institutions of the districts to remain open.

On the eve of bandh, JMMT detonated bombs at different places of the Nawalparasi district. According to the police, no damage has been reported yet from these bombs.
