RAJBIRAJ: A senior journalist lost his life while 3 others including a police head constable were injured in a road mishap in Saptari, today.

65-year-old Ram Prasad Khatiwada of Rajbiraj Municipality-7 was killed after a microbus (Ko 1 Ja 2149) en route to Rajbiraj from Biratnagar collided head-on with a bus (Na 5 Kha 610) moving in opposite direction, Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh informed.

Khatiwada was an active member of Federation of Nepali Journalist, Saptari.

Likewise, Head Constable Shrawan Majhi (30) of Motipur, Morang, Mitya Nand Jha of Rajbiraj Municipality-1 and Arjun Thakuri of Duhabi-10, Sunsari were injured in the incident.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Biratnagar based Nobel Hospital. Head Constable Majhi has sustained critical injuries, police informed.
