BARA, AUGUST 30
For the upcoming parliamentary election, Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal Central Chairperson Upendra Yadav's name has been recommended from two constituencies in Bara. Elected from Saptari Constituency No 2 in the last parliamentary poll, Yadav has been recommended as an MP candidate from Bara constituencies No 2 and 3.
According to party sources, besides the central chairperson, the party Constituency-3 Committee has recommended MP Rambabu Kumar Yadav, former CA member Pramod Gupta, Province Committee member Shushil Yadav, Manis Yadav, Sachitananda Yadav, Shankar Yadav and Sunil Das from the constituency for MP candidate.
The recommendations were made on Sunday. In the last parliamentary election, then Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum's Rambabu Kumar Yadav had sealed victory from the constituency by defeating CPN- UML's Adhyand Pande.
Recommendations were made by Constituency-2 Committee yesterday.
From the constituency, MP Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav and Prayag Raya have also been recommended along with their party chief. MP Yadav, then representing Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum, had eked out victory with a huge margin of 12,000-plus votes in the last election, against NC's Radhechandra Yadav.
Interestingly, JSP-N chief's wish to contest from Bara has come following the declaration of Janamat Party Chief CK Raut that he will contest from Saptari-2, Yadav's victory constituency in the last election. Though there are talks about the challenges for JSP-N in the two constituencies of Bara this time, party insiders are said to be not so worried given the coalition scenario.
Still, from where Yadav will contest hasn't been finalised yet.
"We are open to offer the party chair to contest from any constituency in Bara. Let's see where he intends to run," said JSP-N district Chairperson Ajaya Patel.
Samajbadi Youth Association Chairperson Sujit Pande, on his part, dismissed rumours that he was trying to come to Bara considering it relatively safe from the election point of view. "He (Yadav) is a leader of stature, and so it's the wish of Bara residents to see him as their candidate," Pande said.
