JTMM-Goit denies hand in killing three

Rajbiraj, February 6:

The Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha, headed by Jayakrishna Goit, has stated that his group was not involved in the incident of killing of three persons in Madhwapur village development committee yesterday.

A statement issued by JTMM (Goit faction) Saptari district coordinator Shyam has alleged Maoists for their hand in the killings.

An unidentified group shot to death Jitendra Magar Daita of Yoginiya-8, Rajesh Yadav of Deuri Bharuwa VDC-2 and Murali Jha of Rajbiraj-8, all of them JTMM (Jwala Singh faction) cadres, in Aritol yesterday.

Meanwhile, life in Inaruwa, the Sunsari district headquarters of Sunsari, was becoming normal today after five days of unrest.

The Sunsari district administration office has relaxed curfew imposed in the area.

However, main market in Inaruwa is yet to open despite increased movement of people.

Almost all the government offices have not opened due to the vandalism and arson during the protests.

The National Network of the Weeklies and Fortnightlies, issuing a press release, condemned the abuse over the journalists by protesters.

The press release signed by chairman of the network’s eastern regional committee, Shaligram Pandey condemned the assault on journalists Shambhu Bhandari, Bijaya Pathak, Bikram Luintel, Binod Bhandari and Mohan Manandhar by the cadres of the MJF at Tanki Sinubari.

The network has also warned the MJF against repeating such actions in the future.
