Janakpurdham, May 21:

Cadres of the Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-Jwala) last night seized one-and-a-half bighas of land — the paternal property of Nepali Congress chief whip Ananda Prasad Dhungana — in Govindapur VDC of Dhanusha district.

The same group had captured land and property belonging to NC joint general secretary Dr Ram Baran Yadav in Janakpur Municipality-9 yesterday. However, police have removed the party flag hoisted by the Morcha cadres on Dr Yadav’s land and deployed security personnel there.

According to our Siraha correspondent, the JTMM-Goit group last night seized 62 bighas of land at Belha 1,7 and 8 belonging to late parliamentarian Krishna Charan Shrestha and his brother Manik Charan Shrestha.

JTMM-goit area no 2 in-charge Swami said nearly 200 cadres led by commander of the group Jagarnath Das seized Shrestha’s and his brother’s 62 bighas of land including 16 ponds, gardens and a private home and a television set and a homemade rifle.
