Kamal Thapa elected unified RPP's chairman
KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party' general convention has elected Kamal Thapa as its chairman for four years.
The party's first gala, dubbed unity convention, after the unification of Thapa-led RPP-Nepal and Pashupati Shamsher Rana-led RPP had kicked off in Kathmandu on February 17.
In the election conducted today, Thapa garnered 2804 out of 3136 votes.
His rival Pradeep Bikram Rana bagged 251 only, while 81 votes were invalid, according to RPP sources.
