Kathmandu, January 4:
Former general secretary of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Kamal Thapa, might “come back” to the mainstream following his dissatisfaction over the appointments in the committees of the breakaway faction led by former PM Surya Bahadur Thapa.
Considered the “think tank” of the faction and a close aide to former prime minister Thapa, Kamal Thapa expressed grudges over the appointments to RPP vice-chairman Padma Sunder Lawati during a meeting, indicating the possibility of “coming back” to the RPP. Thapa said he would make a decision on the matter “within a day or two”, according to Lawati.
“I will consider your proposal seriously,” Lawati quoted Thapa as saying. Leader of the breakaway faction, Sarbendra Nath Shukla, however, said Thapa might not have been dissatisfied with the appointments in the panels. Thapa, however, could not be reached for comment.
