Kamal Thapa urges PKD to correct decision on change of guard
HETAUNDA: Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa urged UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to "correct" the party decision to seek support from other parties to form the government under own leadership.
The third largest party of the KP Sharma Oli-led ruling coalition said the Maoist party should act responsibly to complete the Constitution implementation process.
Terming the Maoist decision a betrayal, Thapa said, "Prachanda (Dahal) should not make any hurry to form a new government with a lust of the prime minister's position."
Thapa claimed that he was hopeful that Dahal would withdraw the decision.
He warned that attempts to topple the government would put the peace process at risk.

Meanwhile, the RPP-N spokesperson Rajaram Shrestha said the party would continue supporting the Oli-led government till the last minute.
"The game for changing the incumbent government is not appropriate at a time when the new Constitution is in the phase of implementation and the country has been moving ahead towards the path of economic prosperity," Shrestha said in a statement today.
