Krishna Janmashtami reveller swept away by Mahakali River
BHIMDUTTANAGAR: A 10-year-old girl has gone missing after she was swept away by the Mahakali River in Dodhara Chandani Municipality of Kanchanpur district on Friday morning.
The missing has been identified as Sabina Rana, the daughter of local Khim Lal Rana.
According to the Kanchanpur District Police Office, two of the girls, Rana and Sita Thapa Magar (16) from the locality, were swept away by the swollen river while taking part in a ceremony of immersing the fruits and others ritual implements into the river after celebrating the Krishna Janmashtami festival.
Locals, later, were able to rescue Magar only, who was found unconscious.
Meanwhile, Magar has been taken to a local health institution for the treatment while a team of security personnel deployed from Dodhara Chandani Area Police Office in cooperation with locals, haveĀ undertaken the search operation for the missing minor, informed police.
Hindus throughout the country celebrated Krishna Janmashtami yesterday.
