Karnali province government has set an ambitious target of increasing per capita income to $ 2,100 within five years and developing the province as the most prosperous state in 10 years.

Governor Durgakeshar Khanal today presented the policies and programmes in the Provincial Assembly. The government has also planned to introduce ‘one house one employment programme’.

As per the policies and programmes, the provincial government will formulate Karnali Tourism Comprehensive Plan and carry out feasibility study of 50 tourist destinations. The policies and programmes also include the government’s aim to launch air service to Jumla, Rara, Humla, Dolpa, Neplagunj and Dhangadi from Surkhet.

The province government is also pledged to establish 50-bed hospital in every district and five-bed hospital in each local level in the province.

The policies and programmes further state that every citizen above the age of 18 will be offered training on physical fitness and social security.

As per the policies and programmes, the province government will also construct playground at every community school.
