KATHMANDU, JULY 11
In response to heightened risks of floods and landslides during the monsoon, the Kaski District Administration Office has announced vehicle operation restrictions on several rural routes, effective for 15 days starting July 9.
According to the decision made in a meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Rudradevi Sharma on July 7, public and private passenger vehicles-excluding essential service vehicles-must adhere to new travel timing restrictions on the following routes:
- Birauta–Ghandruk, Birauta–Uleri, and Lumle–Landruk: Vehicles must depart and reach destinations by 5:00 PM.
- Ghandruk–Birauta, Uleri–Birauta, and Landruk–Lumle: Departures are allowed only after 5:00 AM.
- Kahukhola–Tangting route: Vehicles must complete trips by 4:30 PM, while Tangting–Kahukhola departures are permitted after 5:00 AM.
The administration has urged transport operators and the general public to comply for their own safety and expressed regret for any inconvenience the decision may cause.
