Kaski jail gets facelift

Kathmandu:

The International Committee of the Red Cross, along with the Prison Management Department, completed renovation of the Kaski District Prison.

Started in October 2007, the renovation included installation of the environment-friendly biogas system, which improved the sanitation of the jail. A new kitchen and dining room were also constructed along with water tanks and a new pipe system. The International Committee of the Red Cross also trained the inmates and jail staffers to maintain the infrastructure. — HNS
