KC hits out at Maoists

Rupandehi, June 14:

Central member of the Nepali Congress (NC) Arjun Nara Singh KC today accused the Maoists of not taking seriously the peace treaty and other agreements.

Addressing a press meet organised by the Rupandehi chapter of Nepal Press Union in Butwal, KC said, “Launching revolts and leading the government cannot happen simultaneously. The Maoists must act responsibly.”

Stating that the activities of the Young Communist League (YCL) are anarchic, KC said the government and the seven political parties also should be serious about implementing the treaty and agreements.

He said Jana Andolan-II ended with an agreement in which the Maoists were indirectly involved.

“The draft of the announcement was given to the king after the seven parties and the Maoists indirectly agreed to it and we were informed of it by NC president Girija Prasad Koirala,” he said.
