KC stresses nation’s independence

Pyuthan, February 15

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC today argued that the country had to face 135 days of blockade due to the promulgation of the constitution.

Inaugurating the fifth district convention of Rastriya Janamorcha Pyuthan in district headquarters Khalanga today, DPM KC said the blockade had shown the extent of hegemony imposed over the country. “Until the Nepalese people become independent, our sovereignty can’t be maintained,” said DPM KC. He claimed that the country had to face such kinds of troubles time and again due to Nepal government’s privatisation policy of industries and factories established before 1990.

“Though as many as 1,300 ministers held the ministerial berth since 1950 in the country, none of them contributed anything significant for the people and country,” he said. He asked the people not to expect his party to curb the growing corruption in the country as it didn’t have a powerful presence in the coalition government.

DPM KC complained that his party had not been able to garner proper support from people though his party was raising its voice for good governance due to the level of people’s consciousness. “Our party policy would be the best one, if we were born in a rich country,” he claimed.
