Lumjung, August 5:

A 10-year-old boy, Laxmi Kumar BK, died of diarrhoea in a shelter home in Lamjung’s district headquarters, Besisahar, this morning. The shelter home is looking after conflict-hit children.

Four other children — Supriya BK, Manmaya Nepali, Pratikshya KC, Keshram BK — and a nurse at the children’s home, Laxmi Sedhai, who are also suffering from diarrhoea, have been admitted to the Lumjung community hospital.

According to a physician at the hospital, yet another girl, Purna Kala Basnet, was rushed to the Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu today after her condition worsened.
