Kathmandu, January 25:

Nepali Congress (NC) president Girija Prasad Koirala has charged that the king is not keen on resolving the Maoist insurgency.

He levelled this allegation while addressing party workers who had gathered at the headquarters today to pay homage to NC leader, Beni Bahadur Karki, on the thirteenth day after his demise.

“It would have been better had the King, parties and the international community discussed how to resolve the crisis. But the problem is that the King is more an obstacle than a support,” Koirala said. He expressed shock at the way the government had hindered the atmosphere for talks by setting a deadline.
