Chand became public amid an event in Kathmandu on Friday
KATHMANDU, MARCH 5
The Government of Nepal on Friday inked a three point agreement with the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand. Both the sides had reached an agreement early on Thursday.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Prime Minister Oli's Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai and CPN's Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma, party's central committee member Uday Chaluney signed the accord on behalf of the government and the CPN, respectively.
PM Oli and CPN's General Secretary Chand were present at the agreement signing ceremony held in Kathmandu this afternoon.
As per the newly signed agreement, the then outlawed outfit will now join mainstream, peaceful politics. Likewise, the government will release all the party cadres that are currently in prisons under various charges.
