LAMJUNG: A police team deployed by District Police Office, Lamjung on Sunday has seized and destroyed 65 drums containing 1,950 litres of illegal homemade liquor at Besi Bazaar.

According to Police Inspector Basanta Pandey, police acted on a tip-off and seized the liquor after raiding various small hotels in the region.

In line with the growing instances of domestic violence and criminal activities caused by alcohol abuse, police have initiated a campaign to curb production of homemade liquor, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Yadav Dhakal said.
