Lamjung headquarters under surveillance camera
LAMJUNG: CCTV camera surveillance was officially inaugurated in Besishahar, the Lamjung district headquarters on Wednesday.
District Court Magistrate Arjun Adhikari attended the inaugural session and monitored CCTV footage.
The cameras were recently installed with an initiative of Besishahar Unit of the Lamjung Chamber of Commerce and Industry to control criminal activities and maintain security.
As many as 16 cameras have been installed in various locations of Besishahar at a cost of Rs 1.07 million, said the Unit chairman Krishna Jung Gurung. The installed modern camera could capture activities up to the distance of 500 metres, Gurung added.
The Lamjung District Police Office would monitor the camera records, stated DSP Samir Chandra Kharel and added that this would help to control criminal activities and check those who breach traffic rules.
It has been learnt that the organisation has further planned to install more CCTV cameras in other places to check any untoward activities.
