Lamjung government offices sans accountants

Lamjung, May 19

There is a dearth of accountants in government offices in Lamjung.

According to District Treasury Comptroller Office, different government offices in the district are in need of 10 accountants.

DTCO Chief KishorShrestha said the post of accountants had not been filled after they were deployed to the local levels. For want of accountants, a single accountant is looking after up to three offices at a time, Shrestha informed.

The post of accountant is vacant at District Postal Office, District Technicians’ Office, District Livestock Office, Agriculture Development Office, Prime Minister Agriculture Modernisation Project, District Coordination Committee’s Secretariat and District Election Office.

Accountant Ghanshyam Pokhrel, who is looking after Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality and District Land Revenue Office, complained that he was having a tough time working at two offices.
