LSOs, LROs in deficit of around 600 staff: Pandey

Chitwan, March 4

Minister for Land Reform and Management Bikram Pandey said that the reason behind inefficient service delivery at land revenue and land survey offices around the country was the lack of adequate human resources.

Speaking at a news

conference organised by Media Centre Nepal, Chitwan today, he asserted that there was deficit of around 600 employees at these

offices.

Minister Pandey also asserted that the ministry has made preparations to initiate action against 80 employees from different bodies under the ministry for abusing their authority.

He warned of taking stern action against any employee found negligent in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Minister Pandey also said that the ministry was preparing to address the problems of landless squatters by constituting the Landless Squatters’ Problem Resolution Commission, and the Systematic Habitat Commission.

Minister Pandey, who is also the Central Vice-chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, said monarchy should also be provided some ‘space’ within the republic, reiterating that his party was the champion of Hinduism and monarchy. He added that the party would take these issues to the people as the party’s agenda.

The Land Reform Minister stated that as the government has already fixed the date for local level elections, his party would develop the party’s main election agenda. He also hoped that Madhes-centric parties would come

to agreement until the election date.
