GAUSHALA: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) caught an official of the District Survey Office, Mahottari, red-handed with bribe on Monday.

According to the anti-graft constitutional body, land surveyor Santosh Kumar Mahaseth of Gaushala Municipality was caught red-handed while he was taking Rs 100,000 kickback from a service seeker.

A team led by DSP Ram Kumar Lamsal caught Mahaseth red-handed while he was heading out of the office with the bribe amount.

It has been learned that Mahaseth had asked for the bribe with the client in order to finalise the division of the ancestral property.
