Continuous rain triggers disruption in Daunne hills for over 24 hours
NAWALPARASI, AUGUST 5
The Butwal-Narayangadh road section along the East-West Highway has remained blocked for more than 24 hours following a landslide in the Daunne hills of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).
According to the police, continuous rainfall triggered landslides and made the road surface slippery, forcing authorities to halt traffic since Monday morning.
The obstruction has left hundreds of passengers and vehicles stranded, adding to the persistent travel disruptions frequently seen in this area.
The Daunne stretch has experienced repeated blockages in recent years due to dry and rain-induced landslides, particularly since the expansion of the road project began.
