KATHMANDU, AUGUST 30
Vehicular movement along the Prithvi Highway has been disrupted after a landslide blocked the road at Krishnabhir in Dhading on Saturday.
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Office said the landslide occurred after the Trishuli River eroded part of the highway, posing a risk to traffic. Vehicles heading towards the highway have been stopped in Kathmandu following the obstruction.
Office spokesperson Nareshraj Subedi urged travellers not to start their journey until further information on the road condition is available.
Pankaj Malla, general manager of Lhotse Multipurpose Park, said buses scheduled to operate along the Prithvi Highway had been asked to remain at the New Bus Park in Kathmandu.
Recent floods and landslides have disrupted traffic along major roads in several districts, including Rasuwa.
