Landslide displaces eight families

PHIDIM: Eight households of Chyangthapu VDC-6 have been displaced within a month due to the landslide followed by incessant rainfall.

According to District Police Office, two houses of Magardanda were swept away by the landslide and other six houses are in danger of landslide. Families of Man Kumari Khaling, Kamal Khaling, Ram Prasad Khaling, Ruk Bahadur Khaling, Krishna Khaling, Rajendra Khaling and Sanchamaya Khaling are those displaced due to the monsoon fury.

According to local Biseswor Prasad Begha, the displaced people are sheltering in Phedi area now. Around three hundred ropanis of arable land has also been swept away while crops worth thousands of rupees have been destroyed in the disaster. As many as 40 families of the area are also deprived of drinking water after the source of Dhidekholsa drinking water project was damaged in the landslide.

The landslide victims asked the District Administration Office and local Red Cross to provide them relief.
