Landslip toll at two

DHADING: The death toll in the landslide that took place at the Tabricha cliff in Sertung VDC-8 on Sunday night has reached two after rescuers found one Yeni Maya Tamang, 15, of Sertung-7, dead on Monday morning. Resh Maya Tamang, 14, of the same place was found dead yesterday. According to Iman Tamang, a local, the condition of Aitimaya Tamang, 13, Yetimaya Tamang, 15, Yetamaya Tamang, 14 and Mantri Tamang, 40, is also critical. All the injured were brought to Sertung Health Post on Sunday for treatment. Assistant Chief District Officer Krishna Gaire said the injured have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment in a Nepali Army chopper. A group of villagers who were returning from a day-long work in the field were buried in the landslide. One has to walk for three days from Dhadingbesi, the district headquarters, to get to the site of the incident.
