KATHMANDU : Nepalis across the country would celebrate the first anniversary of the day when Nepal turned republic on Friday. In his message to the nation on the occasion of first republic day, NC President GP Koirala underscored the need for unity, consensus and cooperation among parties.

Sadbhawana Party chairman Rajendra Mahato also emphasised the need for timely promulgation of the new constitution to institutionalise the accomplishments of Jana Aandolan II. General secretary of CPN-ML CP Mainali maintained that the parties ought to move ahead together in order to lead the peace process to a logical end.
