Learning continuity campaign launched

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 12

Learning Continuity Campaign has been launched in the country keeping the post Covid-19 situation in mind. The campaign was initiated in collaboration with different organisations, including Nepal Teachers’ Federation and Community School Management Committee Federation of Nepal.

Gopinath Mainali, secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, today inaugurated the campaign virtually through a programme coordinated by the United Nations Children’s Fund and Education and Human Resources Development Centre.

On the occasion, Mainali expressed the belief that the campaign would contribute to guarantee students’ right to education in a context when school education has been made free and compulsory in accordance with the fundamental rights section of the constitution.

Chairperson of Nepal Teachers’ Federation Baburam Thapa said that they were ready to participate in the campaign by ensuring completion of the curriculum of school students.

Similarly, Chairperson of Community School Management Committee Federation of Nepal, Krishna Thapa, said determination to be at the forefront in the role of guardian was important in giving continuity to learning.
