Lecturers take to the streets
Sankhuwasabha, March 29:
Lecturers and staffers of Khandbari-based Barun Multiple Campus in Sankhuwasabha today launched protests demanding reinstatement of the Campus Management Committee and campus chief.
“As daily activities in the campus have ground to a halt in the absence of campus chief and campus management, we have been forced to stage an agitation,” Rudranath Dahal, a lecturer said. Staffers and lecturers in a joint statement said they would call for an indefinite educational strike if the demands were not met within three days. The ANNISU-R had demanded the resignation of campus chief citing irregularities in the FSU polls.
Campus Chief Kiran Kumar Shakya, Assistant Campus Chief Chitra Rekha Adhikari, Programme Coordinator Dandapani Guragain and some lecturers and members of the Campus Management Committee had resigned following the demand of the ANNISU-R. The agitating lecturers are demanding that the problems be solved soon.
