Clean sweep in Kavre, Sindhuli
Kavre/Sindhuli: The left alliance swept the elections in Kavre and Sindhuli, by winning all 12 parliamentary and provincial assembly seats.
As per the final election results from the two districts, CPN-Maoist Centre’s Ganga Bahadur Dong and CPN-UML’s Gokul Baskota registered victory for parliamentary berths in Kavre constituencies No 1 and 2 respectively. While Dong garnered 43,631 votes, his rival Tirtha Lama of Nepali Congress bagged 39,605. Likewise, Baskota garnered 54,427 votes against 36,569 votes received by his closest rival Nepali Congress district president Madhu
Prasad Acharya. CPN-MC’s Ratna Dhakal and UML’s Chandra Lama, Laxman Lamsal and Basundhara Humagain were elected to the provincial assembly from the district.
Following the election results, the alliance took out a victory rally in Banepa Bazaar today. As per the Kavre district election office, 192,880 votes were cast in the district. Of them, 8,299 votes were invalid. The district has a total of 272,292 registered voters.
Similarly, in Sindhuli, UML’s Ganesh Pahadi and CPN-MC’s Haribol Gajurel sealed victory in the parliamentary elections from constituencies No 1 and 2 respectively. Pahadi secured 32,529 votes defeating his rival Premchandra Dahal of NC, who got 22,389 votes.
Likewise, Gajurel gained 30,179 votes against 18,127 votes managed by his closest competitor Narendrajung Thapa of NC.
UML’s Binod Khadka and Pradip Katuwal and CPN-MC’s Buddhiman Majhi and Lekhanath Dahal were elected to the provincial assembly from the district.

Left alliance sweeps away Kavre
BANEPA: CPN-UML leader Chandra Bahadur Lama defeated Nepali Congress's Ganesh Lama to win a Provincial Assembly seat from Kavre 1 (B).
Lama obtained 24,477 votes while his nearest contender NC's Ganesh Lama got 20,270 votes.
Similarly, CPN-UML's another candidate Laxman Lamsal was elected as a member of Provincial Assembly from Kavrepalanchowk 2 (A) by securing 27,621 votes.
His nearest competitor Sundarmani Acharya from democratic alliance obtained 16,589 votes.
Meanwhile, CPN Maoist Centre's Ganga Bahadur Tamang won a parliamentary seat from Kavrepalanchowk-1 by receiving 43,631 votes. His nearest rival Tirtha Lama of democratic alliance managed 39,605 votes.
In Kavre 1 (A), CPN Maoist Centre's candidate Ratna Dhakal has won a Provincial Assembly seat by securing a total of 25,106 votes while his nearest competitor Ganga Bahadur Tamang of the Nepali Congress garnered 17,855 votes.
